Her Excellency, the First Lady of Ghana, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo Patron Dr William Panford Bray Board Chair Mr. William Panford Bray is a former Managing Director of the Ghana Commercial Bank, from 1999-2002. He was Acting Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Airways between 2002 and 2003. He has over 40 years of working experience in banking and finance including his long service at Barclays Bank of Ghana Ltd where he reached the position of Deputy Managing Director. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (FCIB). Mr. Bray currently serves as the Chairman of Enyan Denkyira Rural Bank Limited and Opportunities Industrialization Centre, Ghana, Director, Unicredit Ghana Ltd, Director of Oak House Ltd, Council Member, Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors. Mr. Bray has been honored with various awards including Life Fellow, International Biographical Association (LFIBA), International Man of the Year 2000 – 2001; International Who is Who of Professionals 2000 and a Paul Harris Fellow. Mr. Bray is an avid golfer and enjoys walking and gardening Mrs Akua Sarpong Executive Secretary Ms. Akua Sarpong holds an MBA from the University of Leicester, UK and a first degree in Social Sciences from the KNUST. She also holds certificates in Leadership and Entrepreneurial Development (CELED) and NGO Management and Funding Strategies from the University of Ghana Business School. A project management specialist, she’s a member of the reputable Project Management Professionals (PMP). Ms. Sarpong had previously managed various private sector development programs under the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), during which time was in charge of projects such as the annual USD3million “Danida Business to Business Programme”, which was committed to supporting private sector companies, by promoting long term sustainable business partnerships between Danish and Ghanaian companies. She also worked under the ‘Support to Private Sector Development Programme which sought to support bilateral assistance and cooperation between the Ghana and the Danish Government through Skill Development Fund, Rural Finance Programme and the Government of Ghana’s Private Sector Development Strategy II. She worked as an investment climate specialist under the Private Sector Development Secretariat of the Ministry of Trade and Investment. She was responsible for driving the implementation of key interventions that deal seek to make finance work for small enterprises through the creation of innovative funds that address access and cost needs for small businesses. She currently operates a food based company called All Natural Products Ghana. Ms Sarpong is a mother of two children, a Rotarian and an entrepreneur. Professor Lorna Awo Renner BOARD MEMBER Professor Lorna Awo Renner MB. CHB, Dip Heath Econs (Curtin University), MPH (Liverpool), FRCPCH (UK), FGCPS, is a lecturer in the Department of Child Health, University of Ghana School of Medicine and Dentistry. She is the lead clinician in charge of the Paediatric Oncology Unit (POU) at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra. She is a member of the Ghana National Non-Communicable Diseases Steering Committee and chairperson for the Cancer control subcommittee. She is the immediate past Africa Continental President for the International Society for Paediatric Oncology. Prof. Renner is the Local Project Lead for the World Child Cancer Twinning Programme between the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh and the POU at Korle Bu Hospital. She is a founding member of the Ghana Parents’ Association for Childhood Cancer. She is a member of the WHO Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer. She is the chairperson for the faculty of Paediatrics/Child Health of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons. She is an ardent advocate for improving access to quality care for children affected by cancer, particularly in Ghana. She has also played a leading role in establishing Paediatric HIV comprehensive services in Ghana and is on the National HIV Technical Working Group. Mrs. Irene Aborchie-Nyahe BOARD MEMBER LAWYER IRENE ABORCHIE-NYAHE is the Director of the Legal Assistance Network- Ghana, a human rights Organisation which she founded in the year 2010 and has since the inception of the Organization assisted many people with their legal problems especially women, children and vulnerable men who found it very difficult to access justice due to economic/ financial problems. She is also an Executive member of FIDA- GHANA and a member of FIDA INTERNATIONAL. FIDA stands for International Federation of Women Lawyers. It is an international Non- Governmental Organization (NGO) which enhances the status of women and children by providing Legal aid, among others. She is also a Consultant on Consumer Protection issues with the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Ghana. She holds degrees in Psychology, Sociology, and Law from the University of Ghana, Legon. She later enrolled at the Ghana School of Law where she obtained her professional training in Law and was subsequently called to the Bar as a Professional Lawyer in the year 2010. She joined the Law Reform Commission of Ghana the same year but and later moved into private legal practice. She is also the CEO of Global Facilitations Solutions (GFS), a Consulate and Travel & Tours Facilitation company. Dr Emmanuel A. Odame BOARD MEMBER I am the Director of the Legal Assistant Network-Ghana and senior Partner at Nyahe Law Consult.(no more with Afadjato Chambers) and an Executive member of FIDA Ghana. I am interested in assisting vulnerables in our society and l have been doing just that. Mr Gustav Siale Board Member Mr. Gustav Siale holds a Master’s degree in Population Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Ghana, Legon as well as a Diploma (Distinction) in Insurance from the West African Insurance Institute. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of United Kingdom. Gustav is also a member of the Ghana Bar Association. He joined Ghana Reinsurance Company in January 1994 to start the Research and Statistics Department. He served in several capacities: Head of Research, General Manager (Technical), Deputy Managing Director and Secretary to the Board of Directors. He became the Managing Director of Ghana Reinsurance Company in January, 2012 and retired in June, 2016. Before joining Ghana Reinsurance Company, Mr. Siale had worked with the State Insurance Corporation, now SIC Insurance Company. He attended several seminars and conferences on insurance in Africa, Europe and Asia. Gustav was an Executive Council member of The Insurance Institute of Ghana and the 2nd Vice President of Ghana Insurers Association. He served as the Chairman of the Academic Board and a Council Member of the Ghana Insurance College. Mr Siale is a Member of the Advisory Board of the College of Health Sciences, University of Ghana, Legon. He loves teaching. He was a visiting Lecturer in Principles and Practice of Reinsurance at the West Africa Insurance Institute (WAII) in the Gambia, and currently a Part-time Lecturer in Liability Insurance at University of Ghana Business School. Mr. Siale also served as a Resource Person in Business Interruption, Liability and Engineering Insurances at the Ghana Insurance College. He was a Director of Metropolitan Insurance Company Limited, Trust Logistics Limited and Donewell Life Insurance Company Limited. Currently Gustav is the immediate President of Council of the Korle-Bu Community Chapel and the former Acting Chairman of Ghana Prisons Ministry, a non-for-profit organization which seeks the spiritual and physical wellbeing of inmates. Mr Siale has over thirty-five year experience in insurance and reinsurance. He is happily married to a lovely lady by name Esther and the marriage is blessed with three Children.
